Thrifty finds.

There were a few hours of sunshine this weekend and I was determined to make the most of it. Last summer I relished waking at 5 am to wander around the boot sale in the morning sunshine. This summer I have not done this once. Every weekend has been rained off.

Its been pretty depressing. If you are a thrifter you will totally understand what I mean.

I picked up a few bits this weekend. And only spent £10.00, so my addiction is fed for now.

Good old Pyrex. These will get great use and make a lovely addition to my collection.

Retro pillow cases. Another obsession of mine.

These vases are for the wedding I am styling next week. See here

We LOVE the old ladybird books in this house. We must have over 50. Picked these up for £1.00!

Meakin set. Love the print. Oh so retro.

In other news we painted the kitchen at the weekend. We have gone for Bubbles which you can find here I am head over heels in love with it. I seriously adore the colour of our kitchen. When we told people we were painting the kitchen this colour we had a few, 'really?'s.

My advice, If you love something for your home and don't feel brave enough or have people advising you to do what they think would be better, just go for what you truly want. It is your home and should reflect you. Our home is going to be a bright, happy haven for a very happy family.

We are having a splash back tiled with the same tiles we have in our bathroom. Here are the tiles and I am desperate for a geometric black and white floor. Anyone know of any? I am really struggling to find one. If one doesn't turn up I am thinking black and white chequered vinyl?

What do you think?

Today I found.

Just a quick post as I want to share the amazing finds I found today.

Look at these fabulous curtains. They are HUGE!!. Very long, fully lined and in immaculate condition. No fading, no worn areas. Quite simply perfect. Perfect for our bedroom. And best of all they were £20.00 from the Sue Ryder Charity shop.

Then as I walked home this wallpaper caught my eye. I have been on the hunt for some original retro wallpaper for Poppy's room. Everything I came across seemed so expensive and I loathe to pay over the odds. Then I saw this super cute 1960's red and white daisy print vinyl wallpaper. 4 rolls. For £5.00!!.
What a bargain.

So pleased with these buys.

Cup of coffee and a catch up.

Well its been a while!. I hope you are all well and have been enjoying the start of spring. I have taken a week or so off from blogging. been trying to catch up on all my emails, accounts and all the other boring jobs I try to put off for as long as possible.

But I am back! And I have lots of fab posts to share. Home inspiration, vintage parenting and other vintage/mothering chit chat. So grab a coffee and lets catch up with whats been going on with myself and my vintage family the last week or so.

  Life according to my htc.

The bathroom is almost finished!! My dad finished the tiling last week so Luke has been putting all the extras in. We are  struggling massively to find a dark blue/navy and white chequered vinyl floor. Does anyone know of a company that sells it?.

I been going a bit crazy with a handheld sander and a paint brush. There is method in some of my crazy pieces of furniture I have found, wait and see the finished results. I'm sure they will look brilliant! ;)

I have been trying to clear some of my older stock to make way for different pieces, I have been so busy I haven't really had time to sort through it all. But I did have a good clean and move around. Very excited to get lots of new (well old) stock. ready for the Spring and Summer!.

I did another window display for le salon chic it was a spring/mothers day/Easter tea party inspired display.

We took the children to the lazy bones bootsale on Sunday. This 1950's toy cat and Pyrex jug are my favourite finds of the day. We did manage to find lots of lovely things though and the sun shined all morning.

Sneak peek

A little sneak peek of the lovely vintage home post I have for you all. I went along to a stunning home last week and took lots of pictures. keep your eyes peeled for this post. Its going to be packed with inspiration and ideas from a real vintage home.

Its good to be back.
